Prayer, the KISS of Death

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.”
(Mark 11:24)

Similarly a youth group in Michigan learned that the rock group KISS was coming to the Glacier Dome in Traverse City to do a concert. They, too, believed that with God anything is possible. They asked God to cancel the concert. As they prayed, they sensed God saying to them, Okay, I hear you. I will cancel the KISS concert. They will not play as scheduled.

The students were thrilled. They told their friends that KISS will not play. But as the concert date approached, the Christian students got a bit nervous because it appeared the concert would happen without a hitch. The concert sold out. The band with painted faces and platform shoes stepped onto the stage. The lead guitarist picked up his guitar, brought his arm down over the strings…and immediately behind him, twelve thousand dollars worth of electronic equipment blew up. For an hour the crew tried in vain to repair it. The concert was cancelled…
