Fire In The Home

2 11 2006

As a young parent I had heard a Christian leader make a statement that marked my life: “If our children do not see dramatic answers to specific prayers, we will lose them to satan.”

We want our kids to recognize clearly that Christ is alive and active today. If they do not experience the conspicuous presence of God firsthand, they will look elsewhere for reality.

It is no coincidence that when the Apostle Paul told Turkish Christians to be filled with the Holy Spirit, he then moved into talking with them about seeing God’s presence manifested in the home. “Be filled with the Spirit…Wives submit to your husbands…Husbands, love your wives…Children, obey your parents…Fathers…bring [your children] up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:18,22,25; 6:1,4)
